Gene Spencer joined the Homeownership Preservation Foundation (HPF) in 2010. He is responsible for stakeholder relations, business strategy, and research initiatives as well as leading engagement efforts with federal agencies, Congress and the financial services industry associations. Mr. Spencer is an experienced marketing, communications, relationship management, strategy development, and corporate planning executive, and spent 28 years in several positions at Fannie Mae, including vice president of investor relations and vice president of mortgage-backed securities and marketing. Mr. Spencer also serves as a member of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB’s) Consumer Advisor Board. He holds degrees from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University and the College of William and Mary.
